01 What cookies & storage we use
Only the bare minimum to make the game work — remembering who you are during a session and letting you rejoin a room. No ad trackers, no analytics spying on you.
What are cookies?

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Zinthi LLC) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
doodle! sets one cookie, and only if you sign in. It is called refresh_token, and it is what keeps you signed in without asking for your password again. It cannot be read by JavaScript running on the page, it is sent only over a secure connection, and it is deleted when you log out. We store only a hashed form of it on our servers, never the value held by your browser.
Everything else doodle! keeps in your browser is local storage rather than a cookie. Playing as a guest sets no cookie at all.

Browser storage that is not a cookie
doodle! keeps your guest identity in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. Local storage is not transmitted automatically with your requests the way a cookie is; the values are read by the game and sent only when you join or rejoin a game. They remain in your browser until you clear its storage for this site.
02 Why we use them
To keep you logged in, let you hop back into a game, and keep the service secure. That's the whole list.
We use cookies and browser storage for technical reasons only — because they are required for the Website to operate. This is what is meant by "essential" or "strictly necessary."
Specifically, they are used to keep you signed in to your account, to let a guest keep their seat in a room and rejoin after a disconnection, and to remember the display name you chose.
We do not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or analytics profiling, and we do not permit third parties to do so through our Website.
03 Your choices
Because we only use essential stuff, there's nothing creepy to switch off. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser any time — you'll just get signed out and lose your guest room link.
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. Because doodle! uses only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage, there are no optional categories to switch off — but you can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies, and clear the browser storage for this site at any time.
If you clear cookies or local storage, you will be signed out of any account, and your guest identity — including the ability to rejoin a room in progress or claim earlier guest play into an account — cannot be recovered.
